On October 21st, Sinopec Capital announced the completion of its Pre-A round of financing for Zhongke Shenlan Huize. On the same day, Lihu Corporation announced the establishment of a joint venture with High Energy Times, with a joint investment of 22 million yuan, dedicated to the research and development of all solid state sulfide batteries.
On October 22nd, Nakonor and Sichuan New Energy Vehicle Innovation Center (Academician Ouyang Minggao Workstation) reached a strategic cooperation, and the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in the development of key equipment and processes for solid-state batteries.
From the perspective of the partner's background, Sinopec Capital is backed by Sinopec Group and Sinopec Corporation, and is an investment institution with a state-owned background; Lihu Corporation is a traditional supplier of key components for automotive internal combustion engines. The intention of the two companies to cross-border layout solid-state batteries and promote the strategic development of new energy transformation is very obvious.
As a leading enterprise in the field of lithium electrode rolling equipment, Nakonor was the first to launch dry electrode manufacturing equipment as early as last year and entered the sample testing stage. This cooperation with Academician Ouyang Minggao's workstation is a strong alliance between the two parties in the field of solid-state battery mass production equipment.
Zhongke Shenlan Huize, High Energy Era, and Sichuan New Energy Vehicle Innovation Center are all enterprises with sulfide based all solid state batteries as their core layout.
Among them, Zhongke Shenlan Huize's core technologies include the "combination of rigidity and flexibility - three-phase infiltration" composite electrolyte, in-situ solidification process, and dry sulfide preparation. Its all solid state battery products have undergone four generations of iterations and have been validated in multiple complex application scenarios such as deep sea, deep space, and automobiles. At present, the company is planning to build a 1GWh sulfide polymer composite all solid state battery production line.
It is worth noting that Zhongke Shenlan Huize is the only solid-state battery company to receive two rounds of financing this year. Previously, institutions such as Chunhua Capital and Wujin High tech Investment had made equity investments in it in May.
The high-energy era has completed the development of A-sample 20Ah all solid state battery cells and is currently building a pilot line. It is expected to achieve mass production of small battery cells within 5Ah by the end of this year.
The downstream customers that the company is currently in contact with include the 3C digital and two wheeled electric vehicle industries. Blue Ocean Huateng, which previously invested 12 million yuan in the high-energy era, is focusing on the development of eVTOL motor controllers, all of which are exploring application scenarios in non new energy vehicle fields.
This year, the Sichuan New Energy Vehicle Innovation Center has focused on promoting the implementation of multiple production capacity projects, including a 100 ton electrolyte pilot line and a 30MWh all solid state battery small trial line. The nano sulfide electrolyte is about to enter mass production.
Overall, this week's cooperation in the solid-state battery industry can be described as heavy news with frequent reports.
On the one hand, all three solid-state enterprises are comprehensive/versatile players, with core technology layouts in solid-state electrolytes and the ability to provide complete solid-state battery solutions of "materials electrodes cells systems". Whether it is Deep Blue Huize's dry process for sulfide electrolyte membranes, High Energy Era's preparation of high-purity lithium sulfide (a key raw material for sulfide electrolytes), or Sichuan New Energy Vehicle Innovation Center's mastery of nanoscale sulfide electrolytes, all of these companies have established differentiated advantages in their core areas.
On the other hand, the three companies have entered a critical stage of transitioning from laboratory results to production environments.
